PostSubject: Anthropomorpholic   Wed Feb 12, 2014 8:10 pm

He turned to pit some cooked fish on a plate over rice, spotting Kaleo. He made a shooing motion and hissed a little. "You can wait."
But he couldn't, the smell causing everyone to quiet down a bit and try to sneak peaks at Kure's cooking. Kure swatted others away as well until only Kaleo remained.
Seasoned rice, fish cooked to perfection, and a few kinds of vegitables. Though Kaleo most likely didn't care for vegitables, Kure had cooked them in the grease the fish left over, and mostly used them for decoration. Still, they looked, and smelled, mighty fine.
Jin limped over, a bird-like anthro helping him. "That smells-"
Kure put his hand up, silencing him and cutting him off. "I'll make you a plate, too."
Jin smiled.
No. I get everything. You can have the leftover fishes.
His tail flickered slightly with the ever growing crowd of hungry guests indirectly begging for the delicious Kure food he already claimed. He wasn't above admiting he didn't really like sharing food, or anything for that matter, it was his after all.
When his plate is served he quickly thanked Kure by licking his nose and started digging in. The food was as amazing as youd expect it to be, perfect flavors all around, enough to make the small cat's tail curl with bliss.
Kure smiled and tried to cook stuff up for the others, but Kaleo kept shooing people off. He sighed and gave up after 3 more plates. He chatted with some one for a while before claiming his spot next to Kaleo, eventually pulling him onto his lap, looking around and rubbing circles into Kaleo's arm with his thumb.
Kaleo cuddled and nuzzled into Kure's neck, like any cat in the mood for affection would. He stayed still for the most part, ocassionally adding in a few sentences to conversations or stealing a bite of food off of Kure's fork.
Kure nipped at him occassionally, getting a little defensive over his food to the point where he scooted away for a while, finished eating, then came back. His smug look made Kaleo want to punch it. And then kiss it.
Eventually he had to get up to clean a bit while the others harped on about the society these days. Then Jin brought up the interesting topic: How anthros came to be. It caught a lot of their attention, and most of them had no honest idea.
Kaleo took this oppertunity to make a funny.
"Some guy fucked a cat."
At least it was funny to him. He was used to these sort of remarks, the best way in his mind to cope with them was to laugh at how idiotic the insinuations are and how many ignorant humans actually believe it's true.
Everyone else got a laugh out of it, and it turned into a joke fest before they went back to casual conversation. One particularly brawny human ended up pulling Jin aside to ask him something, leaving Kaleo with the group. They all turned their attention on him, as if he were meant to lead them through conversations as Jin did.
Kaleo felt more than a little uncomfortable with all of the attentnion on him. When it came to one on one attention, it was his favorite thing in the world, but all of these eyes staring at him made him uneasy. In a last ditch effort to get eyes off of him he turns to a random anthro he hadn't payed attention to very much and asked questions about the daily routine of a reptile. He had always been curious on the kind of treatment their kind recieved versus mammalian anthros, and now seemed like a good time to bring it up.
The creature looked down from its tall stance, running its tongue across its needle sharp, impressive teeth before inhaling to speak, a hiss in his voice. It wasn't hostility, it was normal for him.
He explained how it was much like everyone else's, but with the need to keep their body temperature regulated. Cold weather was deadly for them, and if they didn't bundle up properly they could very easily die.
He asked about Kaleo's, showing actual interest. Kaleo could tell it was incredibly hard for him to show emotion, he didn't smile much and didn't really change his expression. When Kaleo asked why, he noted how reptiles only really felt so much, so it was hard for him to convey feelings reptiles aren't used to conveying.
Kaleo found himself very intrigued. "What emotions can you convey then?" In reality he just wanted to do something to make him mad, but he didn't want to be a jerk at the same time. Always the problem. Kaleo was also curious about how much he could feel physically, considering his scales on such. He decided o test this out a bit by swishing his tail back and forth lightly with interest, brushing under the reptiles chin. On accident of course.
The lizard lifted his head away a little, making a small hissing noise until Kaleo stopped. "I do not know. I am not very good at it, so I do not know if I am doing it correctly." He tilted his head a little and examined the feline, which made Kaleo uncomfortable for a moment because it almost looked like he was ready for a snack. But his gaze changed to a less hostile one. He most likely didn't mean it, shifting in his seat a little, his thick tail draped over his lap.
Kaleo's eyes drift down to his tail and his ears twitch a little, perplexed by how different it is from his own, even for a reptile. He could tell his staring was making the air a little thin and turned his attention back to his face, trying hard not to bat at his goatee a little. "When did you start coming here?"
"When Jin hired me." he tilted his head, and with Kaleo's questioning look, continued. "I'm Jin's bodyguard." It seemed a little odd. He wasn't really around unless it was in the tavern, as far as Kaleo knew.
"And you? You smell of Kure."
Kaleo blushes profously at the strongly implied accusation of being Kure's bitch. He could tell that was at least what was in the back of the circles heads. Needless to say it was embarassing and almost somewhat irritating. Despite his now former occupation Kaleo preffered to keep his private life private, that being relationships outside of his work, not that there were many.
"I got here a while ago...I live at Kure's house now."
The lizard attempts to pick up on Kaleo's facial cues, but seems a little frustraited with himself when he can't. Instead, he tries to keep up with the convseration, not catching Kaleo's irritation.
"Ah, well it is a pleasure to have you around. You make him happy."
Kaleo stared, so he clarified.
"Kure. You make Kure happy. He does not smile like that around just anyone."
And if it was anything as plain and simple as a smile, the lizard could catch on to it. He could easily pick apart fake smiles from real ones.
This makes him blush even more but in a different much softer way. His expression softens as well and a small smile even creeps up on his face. "I'm, glad I can do that for him"
The lizard smiled back, which was downright terrifying if Kaleo didn't know better. Jin suddenly called the lizard over, coming back to be the center of the conversation again. Everyone left Kaleo generally alone now, mostly because of the looks from the reptile as well as Kure.
Kure brought drinks over but otherwise stayed at the bar, looking to be lost in thought and perhaps a little depressed. Most likely by today's events.
Kaleo picked up on this fairly easily, starting to feel bad for suggesting they go out earlier in the first place. He nuzzled his cheek against Kure's shoulder and grabed the drink he brought for him. "Are you alright"

Kure blinked as if Kaleo had plucked him out of some minor state of psychosis. His eyes refocused and he smiled down at the small catboy. He nuzzled him back and gave him a small purr. "I am fine. Just overthinking things. Are you enjoying yourself? The others aren't bothering you too much?"
He shakes his head. "No they're all great, though a little unaware of personal space. You have some very interesting friends." Kaleo's eyes scan the room again, staring at all of the different forms scattered across the room from scales to skin.
Kure cracks a smile and turns a bit. "Yeah, sorry. They consider you family already, so personal space is generally why Jin has a bodyguard." He took a swig of whatever was in the black bottle he had, then crossed his legs.
"Maybe I should get one too." He says as he swings his legs in the chair, glancing around the room again for an equally worthy and attractive candidate.
Kure raised an eyebrow. He would offer but knew even he needed help keeping track of his new girlfriend. He shrugged and swished his bottle around, pointing it towards a dark door somewhat hidden in the corner. He didn't say anything, getting up off the stool and moving behind the bar to continue mixing drinks.
Kaleo looked in the direction Kure pointed and glanced back at him, unsure if he should head over there or not. To say it looked like some kind of dungeon torture chamber door was an understatement, but he got up anyway, making his way through the crowd and eventually through the door.
The door slammed behind him. This room was huge and only lit with a light in the middle where a static-filled TV and table were. A few shadows lumbered around the table. One sat on the table, the rest in chairs and one on the floor. They were chatting, drinking. One turned, its glowing four eyes piercing through the darkness. Two of its four arms were resting on the table, the other two holding a bottle and a remote. His tail curled around another beer but it seemed like it was holding it for some one else. They all stopped talking and turned.
As soon as Kaleo took in all there was to view in the room he gulped, wondering why the hell Kure would send him in here. He almost instinctively started to shrink down against the wall with his ears down, but kept his composure, convincing himself that Kure wouldn't let anything happen to him.
"....Any of you bodyguards.."
The one on the table hissed, but it was more of an exhale. He huffed and mumbled something to the others, putting everything down and getting off the table. A brawny human turned and smiled, raising his beer. "Kure sent 'ya?"
"Kaleo right?"
"Yeah, that's our boy Kaleo."
In the light, Kaleo could see the four armed creature was generally reptilian with a mess of bristles on its head and down its neck a bit. Only two of his eyes were closed now and he looked slightly less intimidating. He bowed his head a little and lead Kaleo over, his long tail pulling a chair out for him. Around Kaleo were nice looking anthros and humans alike, all seeming much less terrifying once he got a better look.
"Now what's this about a body guard, mate?"
The human offered a beer.
Kaleo tried to make his large sigh of relief as unnoticalble as possible, not wanting any of them to think he's weak. He smiled a little and sat down, taking the beer and drinking a bit of it. "I was talking with Kure about one and he apparently thinks It's a good idea for me to get one, since he sent me over here." It didn't take him long to feel comfortable among all of them, his charming demenor returning quickly.
The humans looked at each other, some of them even seeming a little off at the sound of Kure's name. The anthros didn't seem effected. They smiled at the word "bodyguard", however. "Well you've come to the right place, boy."
Some kind of winged, feathered creature. If it had to be decribed by Kaleo, he'd most likely sa--
It was was startled by the four-armed lizard and sent off sparks. Phoenix?
Obviously, any price would be paid by Kaleo's boytoy, but this group seemed to think highly of him. Even the humans were nice to be around. He could see some reptile in one human, eyes slitted and smales along his skin here and there. He didn't speak. In fact he kept his back turned the entire time.
Kaleo returned his smile, that sort of fake sweetness he usually used for past clients peaking through accidentally. His tail swished around with interest, his eyes showed this as well. He was more than a bit excited to pick which one of these burley men would be his escort. "What exactly is in a body guard's job description, besides the obvious task of keeping an eye on my person" Anything that came out of Kaleo's mouth of course sounded provocative.
The human spoke up again, slamming down his empty beer bottle. "Depends on the pay, buddy. It all depends on the pay." The feathered anthro nodded and ran his tongue across his psyuedoteeth. He said something in a different language mentioning Kure's name, and the human nodded, but didn't say anthing. "What? Were you expecting something in writing?"
The lizard looked up at the sound, two hands grabbed a pen and one grabbed paper. His last free hand held his beer as he leaned back on his tail, using it as a seat.
"Skrill can put something on paper for you."
Skrill put glasses on his snout and and looked at Kaleo as if waiting for some form of instruction.
Kaleo couldn't tell if they were being sarcastic or not. The half-human waved them away and sat on the table as well. He honestly looked like if he stared at Kaleo enough, Kaleo would turn to stone. He opened his mouth but the human cut it off.
"In any case, if you gotta know, with enough pay we can be more of uhh.. What are those eggheads called?"
"Butlers." The half-human hissed, voice incredibly raspy.
"Yeah those!"
"I'm sure money won't be a problem in this situation." He leans back in his seat and crosses his legs, drinking a little more of his beer. "Kure has a butler already, but he's a little too uptight for me." He shrugs as he looks over his candidates once more. "I'd mostly just like someone to keep me from getting too crowded."
The speaker shrugged and Skrill answered with a confused hiss, still holding his pens and paper.
"Well that's up to you. Anyone's generally up 'fer the job." He sat back. "But if you want some one that doesn't talk much, take Skrill or even Zaire here." He pointed his drink at the half-human, who lowered his gaze and looked away. Half-humans were shunned more than anthros were, and usually either lived on the streets, or were murdered when born. He kept avoiding Kaleo's gaze, and Skrill only sat there on his tail, digitigrade legs crossed.
Kaleo turned his head to look at Zaire, perplexed by his apparent shyness, but that was usually to be expected of someone born half anthro. He started to wonder if he even wanted the job in the first place, but he seemed like a nice candidate, quiet, not hideous, intimidating, pretty muuch all he needed. "You sure you're interested?"
He nodded, seeming somewhat on the fence about it. He refused to meet Kaleo's gaze, however. Each time Kaleo would move or lean to attempt to make eye contact, he'd look away and let out a small, annoyed whimper. Finally, Kaleo gave up, and Skrill walked over.
"'Yer not even gonna ask about the pay, Zaza?"
He tsked and got up, stepped over to Kaleo and simply waited to leave. He stood a good few heads over Kaleo, generally tall, but not as tall as Kure.
Kaleo smiled when he finally agreed, excited to have him work for him. Skrill's comment made him snicker a little and also consider the price. He didn't bother trying to look Zaire in the eye, seeing no point.
"I suppose you'll just negotiate the price with Kure, he'll be the one paying you." Kaleo drank down the rest of his bottle and waved goodbye to all of the new people he met, then lead Zaire back out of the room and over to the bar to Kure.
"I hired this guy."

Kure almost spit his drink out but tried to make the action look as normal as possible. he set his drink down. "Zaire? You sure?" Zaire looked down and shifted a bit, Kure making a face. "No, not because of that." He grabbed a bottle and downed it in seconds, tossing it aside. "Okay, okay cool. Fine by me. Speaking of which, Kaleo, I have some business to attend to. If you want, you can head back home or stay here, Clydus or Jin can drive you." He thrust his thumb at Clydus behind him, who was mixing drinks quietly.
"Look, I'm really sorry to leave so suddenly but it's really important stuff."

Kaleo shook his head a little. "It's alright really, i'll just head home but, is Zaire going to stay at the mansion?" He glanced at Zaire then back to Kure, really asking both of them what the plan on that was.

Kure nodded. "Yes, let the butler set him up with a room, Zaire, you're getting paid a lot so--" Zaire nodded quickly and coughed. "Yes, I know."
Kure eyed him then looked at Kaleo, smiling. "Fridge is open, of course. Feel free to explore the house just don't go digging in my stuff please." He kissed Kaleo's head and nodded at Zaire, grabbing his jacket and walking out of the building.

Kaleo smiled at him and waved as his boyfriend left the room, then turned to Zaire. "One second i'll get Jin." He walked through the crowd to fetch Jin and tell him the situation, then back to the bar to grab his new butler by the hand to drag him outside to go. "Thanks Jin,"

Clydus waved goodbye and Jin tossed a cigarette, stomping with his high heel boots when they got outside. "No problem, sugarcube." He motioned Kaleo to follow him as they went to get his car. It was a sleak, red, sportscar that Kaleo had to stop and admire for a moment. He let Kaleo in first, letting Zaire in the back, saying hello to him as he got in. "Well gosh, I'm glad you chose Zaire. Boy needs the socializing." He winked at Zaire who lowered his head.
Jin shrugged and turned the car on, the engine purring to live, Jin purring back at it as they backed out of the driveway, and shot down the road. Despite the speed, Kaleo felt safe. It took no time at all for Jin to arrive at Kure's, parking in the garage. He decided to stay a while to make sure Kaleo settled, letting them inside and closing the door behind them.
Zaire looked around with wonder. He had never been in Kure's house before, and had to say it was the biggest place he'd ever seen. And this was just ONE wing of the house.

Kaleo leaned up on his toes to nuzzled Jin's face a little to thank him, then searched around with Zaire for a butler, finally finding one in one of the living rooms. "This is Zaire, my butler...guard. Please set up a room for him." He smiled charmingly at the butler before they nodded and zoomed off. "I guess i'll give you a tour now, even though i've only been in a few rooms myself." He took his hand again and showed him the necessities, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, ect, then his and Kure's room. "I'm not sure if he'd want you in here but here's the room we share."

Zaire felt his knees weaken but didn't show it. For any anthro or mixed blood, no matter how watered down, Kure's presence felt good, but it was also overwhelming. The room reeked of his presence, and made Zaire feel a little light headed. He quickly nodded and took one step back. Kure's space, leave it alone, got it.
Meanwhile Jin helped the butlers ready Zaire's room. It was a decent sized one, the bed soft as well as the blankets. Jin put in some clothes he assumed would fit him, keeping to Zaire's style. He smiled, proud of his work, then left to raid Kure's fridge.

Kaleo stood in Zaire's room with him well after Jin left, searching through all of the outfits he had left for him. "Is this room okay? Will you be needing anything else?" He sat on the edge of the bed with his legs crossed. "I'm not sure all of what i'll have you do inside the mansion but for starters black milk teas are my favorite."

Zaire took off his coat and put on something a little more sharp and suited for his current job, nodding at Kaleo's question and shaking his head when asked if he needed anything else.
He noted that in his head: Black milk teas. He'd need to get tapioca, in that case. Some honey, some syrup. He wondered if those things were already here...
If not, he could go get them when it got late enough and Kaleo was asleep.
"Would you like some now?"
If that were the case, he prayed Kure had what he'd need. His voice was still raspy, but not as quiet. He seemed a lot more comfortable with Kaleo.

He smiled and nodded. "That sounds nice right now, i've had a long day." He got up and followed Zaire to the kitchen, finding Jin already there munching away at something. He hopped up onto a perch with a good view of the kitchen and stretched with a yawn, plopping down with his leg hanging off the side while he watched them. "What are you eating Jin"

Jin held up a lettuce wrap, mouth too full to properly answer. Kure's currently butler furiously sweeped up any mess Jin made, and seemed a little annoyed as Zaire pushed past him and searched the kitchen.
"How would you like your tea?" He looked up at Kaleo on his perch. It was the first time Kaleo got a good view of his gleaming eyes.

Kaleo found the color of his eyes quite charming, complimenting the rest of his face quite well. "Mostly milk please, two cubes of sugar." He chuckled slightly at Jin and Kure's butler's antics, lettuce innards flying everywhere and a broom sweeping up right after him.

He gathered some black tea leaves, grabbed milk from the fridge, some ice cubes, and some sweetener. He let the loose-leaf tea brew and took out a nice sized glass, filling it mostly with milk, ice, and a good amount of sweetener before adding some black tea in. He put in two sugar cubes as well, making sure he didn't add TOO much sweetener, only a tiny amount for the taste. He put a straw in it, and handed it up to Kaleo. The butler watched intently, then remembered his sweeping job.

Kaleo hopped down and sat at the bar, taking the glass and a small sip. "It's delicious, thank you." He purred as he started drinking more of it, his tail curling and eyes closing, it really was perfect. He had forgotten to tell Zaire about the ice, very glad that he thought to on his own.

Zaire nodded, swiftly cleaned his mess, then stood there, not knowing what to do. This house was so big, and smelled a lot like Kure. His face flushed and he hid it by looking down and sitting on the counter, swinging his legs a bit. Meanwhile, Jin finished up his lettuce wrap.
"Oh, Kaleo, doll, where did Kure say he was headed, exactly?"

Kaleo took another long sip before shrugging. "He said he had some important business to take care of, he didn't really say much else about it. Do you have an idea of where he went." He did start to get a bit curious as he thought about it more, it was rather sudden.

Jin shook his head. "I just heard about it when you told me." They all looked at the butler, who tilted his head a little, clueless. He went back to sweeping the floor, then walked away to clean other parts of the house or do who-knows-what.
Jin looked at his phone then sighed. "Well I hope you don't mind. I think I'm going to crash here tonight, doll. 'Been a long day." He smiled and got up. "If Kure contacts me I'll let you know. I'm sure it's just official business, honey."
He got up and walked off.

Kaleo nodded to him and got up to join Zaire at the counter, still sipping away at his tea. "So, where you born here or," He wanted to ask him a million questions, but at the same time didn't want to make the poor thing uncomfortable.

Kaleo shook his head. "No, I was born in India." He avoided Kaleo's gaze again. Seemed he was only brave enough to look at him whenever it was more servanty business. He hoped Kaleo didn't take it personally.

Kaleo's ears perked up in interest. Who knew he had such an exotic butler. "When did you come to live here? And wh-" He stopped himself mid-sentence, feeling a little nosey. He was very used to getting whatever he wanted including answers but with Zaire he really didn't want to come off as overly invasive. "Sorry I don't mean to pry, i'm just a bit curious."

Zaire seemed slightly overwhelmed again, but settled himself and tried to hide it as quickly as possible. "No, it is fine. I came here as a boy." He bit his lip, hard.
