And that he did, climbing up into the seat and sitting sideways over something he probably shouldn't. He smiled happily, feeling much more comfortable now. "OH ok why do you wear them? Do you not like cold feets? I like cold everything especially feets."
Vinny turned his head to look at the piles of messy papers over the desk, tilting his head this way and that, trying to read the strange letters. "You spelled all the words wrong Gate!"

Vinny didn't move TOO much from that spot, but still he wiggled around with excitement from all of the strange objects he had never seen before, especially a pink paper clip. "It's so pretty can I have it??" He looked at Gate hopefully, but something told him that no matter what he said there was no way he was getting that thing back from the pink thing either way.
He shoved it into his pocket before Gate could answer and thanked him with a small nuzzle, rubbing his cheek where Gate's chin hairs scratched him.
"Where'd you get all this weird stuff from? Is it from the North??"
Being a tideborn born in the southern tropics meant there would probably never really be a reason for him to venture very far into different climates, though he was very curious about how things were in places up North, where there was more land than sea.

"Okay!" Vinny completely forgot about waiting for an answer to his question when he took sight of the giant mound of, well, stuff. He had no clue what most of this junk was but either way he was gonna play with it. He crossed his legs at the bottom of it, pulling out this and that and saving any shinnies for himself. He also pulled out a fair amount of clothes, trying on a few things, pulling off a lot of things, needless to say he was barely dressed in about half an hour.

Vinny retracted his hand and held up the other which was stuck in a sparkly glass jar. Poor thing didn't wanna break it, thinking he'd get in trouble.
"My hand is stuck!"

Vinny sighed in relief and wiggled his fingers once he was finally free. "Phew ok!" He hopped over to the pile, happy to be free and dug around for something to wear again, eventually finding a shirt with some kind of squid on the front. It was much bigger than him, fitting more like a really short dress, but that's enough clothes right? Yeah that's enough.
He pranced back over with a few shiny things he found in the pile, one of them being a tiny metal bird figurine. "Look its you!"

Vinny followed him of course, like a little puppy. The sudden fire startled him a little, putting his fins on alert. "What are you doing??" His head turned this way and that as Gate added different ingredients to the pot. Needless to say he was confused, he knew cooking was a thing be the only kind he ever really saw was roasting things on a stick over a fire, which seemed kinda icky...

"Oops okay!" Vinny pulled his hands back and placed them on his knees, sitting up straight and swinging his legs. He leaned in closer every now in then, very curious about what this elf was trying to make. By the time the food was finished it was pretty unrecognizable as anything edible to the tiny tideborn, but it DID smell good...
"What is it?"

Vinny took the weird metal thing and looked it over. What the heck was a fork?? He watched the way Gate used it and tried to mimic his movements, having a hard time dealing with how slow the fork actually brought food into his mouth. "This fork is too slow!"

Vinny pouted a little but continued eating with the dumb fork. His entire plate was licked clean in a matter of minutes, allowing the small fish to free roam around the house again. Of course after a few minutes of exploring he ended up right back in Gate's lap. He was thankful for the food he had to repay him somehow anyway. He was a little confused by what Gate was doing, tilting his head this way and that. Was he holding his nose because he had to sneeze? He placed his small cold hand over his. "Why are you doing that?"

Vinny frowned and actually sat still for once, shrinking down but still sitting right in the center of his lap. "But you're warm!" He was in water the majority of his life, he rarely came across ANYTHING warm aside from the sun. It felt nice against his skin.

Vinny nodded and smiled. "I'll be quiet!" And with that he really did shut up, mostly due to the fact that he was pretty tired himself. He snuggled up to his new large friend, curling up into a somehow even smaller pink thing against his chest and closed his eyes.

The wiggles were followed closely by a few small whimpers and cries, he was having a nightmare. It would actually be sort of cute if he didn't look so darn sad. His small hands gripped around Gate's shirt tighter, so tight in fact Gate would probably be the only thing that could pry him off.
