After buying who knows how many trinkets he stopped by a tree to let Horus feel over them all and describe what colors they were to Horus. "It's getting late, we should find Khaba, keep your fins out for him." He hooked Horus' hand on his arm and started off towards the spot where they had parted from their brother, fixing Horus' hood over his head as well as his own. "It' shouldn't be too hard...there arn't exactly a lot of red heads here."

Horus nodded. Not that he could tell according to hair. His tensed as they went deeper into the lower districts. It.. smelled familiar. But not in the best way. There were so many people here that scared him, just because of the aura that came off of them.
They generally avoided the two brothers. Tabu was surprised that most of them were... Human. Not other races. A few tideborns were around, but that was it.
"I don't sense Khaba around..."

"Me neither, let's try looking in the alleys." He kept himself on high guard in this area, keeping his weapons at the ready to defend Horus. After fifteen more minutes of looking around he huffed, very irritated. "Where the hell is he this is taking forever..." He looked back to Horus. "We should just wait for him back at the inn." His fins flickered at a noise.

Horus heard it, too. It was the sound of a sword being sheathed. A tall, dark figure was sitting near one of the buildings. Behind the door, Tabu could hear mumbling and shady talk. The figure scoffed. "The redhead tideborn is the one you're looking for, yes?"
His voice was dark and somewhat muffled, but still easy to understand.
Horus' fins flared, and Tabu noted the massive, dark, glowing wing-like appendages on this stranger's back.

Tabu was very cautious while speaking to this individual, keeping a mental image of his surroundings without taking his eyes off of the stranger. He nodded once. "Yes. I take it you've seen him?" He kept Horus close and a bit behind him.

The stranger didn't look at them. "In there." He took out his knife and pointed it at the door behind him. "I'd wait for him to come out, though. You don't want to go in there... If he comes out, anyway." He sheathed the knife and turned his head slightly. Horus was conflicted. He was very interested in this individual, and really wanted to ask why his voice sounded funny.

"This place would be under a mountain of rubble before he gets a scratch, you don't have to worry about that." He kept on his usual sleek, calm expression, not an ounce of his actual demeanor shining through. He looked back to his brother. "Do you want to get him now Horus or wait at the inn?"

Tabu could see Tabu's interest peaked, but he fought it. "We should maybe wait at the inn--" The stranger was gone. Completely. And Khaba was walking out. He was smiling, and some one, neither had any idea who, was stumbling after him, drunk.
"Now boy, don't--hic--don't you get into any trouble ya heer!?" The man fell and Khaba helped him up and pushed him back into the door, closing it. He turned to see his siblings, frowning. "It isn't safe here. I thought you two would be at the inn." He walked over.
He smelled of booze and gunpowder.

Tabu wanted to cover his nose but just made a face instead. "Have you been drinking or something?" He knew the smell had to be messing with Horus' nose. "Lets get out of here if it's dangerous." He sounded a little irritated, likely due to the fact his brother was hanging out so nonchalantly in this 'dangerous place'.

Khaba's frown deepened. "No, of course not. I was getting directions to the prison." Horus tilted his head a little as they walked, taking Khaba's hand, too. "That's shady."
"Well yeah, sort of. But hey I got good directions and learned quite a bit from them. It's safer in there than it is in the Shroud palaces." He shrugged. "Oh, who were you talking to before I walked out?"
They made it to a main street. It was generally quiet and empty. Some sort of reptilian human was sweeping up along with a tideborn, both chatting casually. Khaba waved. They waved back.

Tabu nodded to them when they passed then kept his eyes forward. "I don't know but he apparently knew we were looking for you, not that it was hard to guess since we're twins...But he was weird. I got a bad vibe from him."

Khaba frowned. "You need to be careful who you speak to, even if they engage first." Once they reached the inn, he settled Horus into the covers before pulling out his map. There were organized scribbles on it. He looked over it as he nibbled on some cheese and bread. "Well, we know how to get in now. Sort of."

Tabu sat down and leaned back on his arms, staring at his brother. "Sort of?" He sighed as he layed back flat on the ground. This trip was starting to get a bit tedious, but if it got him the information he needed he guessed he didn't mind too much..."What are we supposed to do?"

Khaba showed his brother the map. The writing was obviously not his. Not nearly as messy. He pointed at a red circle drawn near the massive, circular building labeled "Jackdaw Prison". "Okay, well there's a way in through the body dump back here. Don't worry, we'll only really pass by the executioner's room... Maybe a few. Get to see some people get tortured."
"May look cool but smells gross..."
"Horus we'll cover your face with a scarf, okay?" He nuzzled his brother, then continued.
"I have ties in there that can get us in. Funny thing is, it isn't just the royal family that runs this place, or this town. It's the Thieves' Guild." He pointed to where they were earlier. "They're from Shroud! They run this town underground with an iron fist. The prison is pretty much owned by them. Ironic, right? But there's a line they don't cross, which separates them from prisoners easily. Anyway..." He slid his finger along a drawn path. "We'll meet him there. He'll show us to all the records."

Tabu looked over the trail again and again, making a mental map of where they needed to go and what room and potential people they needed to pass. He also took in the new information from Khaba, he found it perplexing the the shroud's influence even reached this far, it seemed to be everywhere in some way or another. "Doesn't sound to difficult." He stretched and looked to the ceiling, feeling excited but trying not to show it too much.

Khaba nodded. "It'll be cool!" Horus wasn't a fan of torture, but Khaba read about it a lot, and was very interested in city... Structures. He had to ask... "How is Shroud out here?"
Khaba shrugged. "They're FROM Shroud... They are Shroud. But they don't really operate for Shroud. However, they are still very loyal to it, it seems. I didn't reveal who we were though, so don't worry." He gave them both a toothy grin, Horus able to hear it through his tone. He sighed and snuggled into the blankets.

"I wonder how'd they even react if they did find out who we were." He hoped it'd involve gifts. Lots of them. "How did you even end up back there? I thought you were looking for homeless people."

"Well they're not going to so we'll never know. And you didn't see? I was in the dark quarter. Homeless people everywhere." He yawned. "I found what I was looking for. For now, lets sleep, okay?"

It was late once more when they made their way to the prison. It was massive and looked almost like a huge, black, castle. Or stadium. The stone was dark, gloomy, terrifying. Horus squeaked. It was obvious he could hear and smell everything before his siblings could. Khaba kept him close, fixing a scarf over his nose and nuzzling him.
Guards looked at them weirdly, one almost speaking up. They looked like they could crush all of them with no problem under their boot, but clammed up when the white-haired, shady man Tabu ran into before approached the princes. "This way." His voice was still raspy, and the guards went back to minding their own business. Tabu noted the guards up in towers, he guards patrolling, the ones walking along walls... They made their way from the main gate to the back. There were a few others back there, dark and scraggly and scrappy. One spit some kind of black substance in the grass.
Tabu heard cheering in the distance.

Tabu made a bit of a face, all the scraggly looking figures around him a tad unsettling, but he ignored them and pressed on with his usual dignified look. When they got close to the upper balconies of the arena the cheering became much louder. He turned his head to view what exactly they were cheering about and turned a bit pale.

Khaba wasn't looking, keeping his focus on Horus. Horus didn't need eyes to know exactly what was going on down there. In some areas, there were tied up prisoners who seemed to just be bait, others just fighting each other. Even their company felt unsettled by it... But the white haired, brightly finned fellow didn't show any hint of emotion toward any of their surroundings.
In he middle of the ring, Tabu could see a massive, unused pole coming from the middle of the ring. It was made of wood, but looked stronger than steel. It was nearly black with bloodstain on the woods, and numerous rusted chains were lying about it. It didn't look touched, somehow. Like it had been there forever, but wasn't used after.
Despite this, Tabu could smell Eros.

The smell of Eros put him on edge, because it was mixed with the scent of old blood and gore everywhere. It was hard for him not to cover his nose as they walked around, so he lifted his scarf up just a bit in hopes that it'd block it out. It smelled of home. Every now and then his eyes glanced back at the pole, he found it very haunting, and hoped he wouldn't have any kind of nightmare about it.

Another tideborn walked up. He had red hair, but Tabu could tell it was just stained, spotting some blonde in there. He was pretty bulky, and very tall. His armor was a mixture of cloth and metal. The cloth was torn, layered, but still gave him a nice look. He had sharp, white eyes that may have put his father's hair to shame. He shook gore bits out of his hair and licked blood that was dripping down from his forehead. "Who's this?"
Khaba pointed. "My two brothers."
He looked down at Horus, who shrunk behind Tabu. The man's expression changed from hostile to... Less hostile and more fascinated. He shook blood from his hair once more before motioning for them to follow. The other cutthroats broke away as they followed he new face. He put his sword over his shoulders as he walked with them around the ring to one of the lower floors. soon enough they were right on the floor of the fights, the fighters right on the other side of thick metal bars. Tabu saw one chained to the wall. He was human, growling and snarling like an animal. He snapped at Horus, the blood-stained stranger giving him a swift kick before Khaba could. He made sure Horus was okay before turning to the rest of the brothers. "So you're here about Eros, huh?" Horus seemed oddly at ease. He had no idea how this guy looked or the scars that he bore, but the smell said he had punched a few heads in. However, he wasn't a prisoner, Horus didn't smell metal on him like the others or burned flesh or the like.

Tabu glared at the inmate that tried to swipe at Horus, nearly spitting at him, but he pressed on, sending soft subtle purrs to Horus. He nodded at their guide's question, trying to keep his usual calm smile on in the presence of so many disgusting smells and figures. "Yes that's right, did you know him personally?" He kept a close eye on his facial queues, looking for any hint at a lie.

Tabu couldn't read him as easily. He seemed generally aloof. That and he had a few scars on his face and jawline that made it hard to see if he was making any faces or not. "Yeah, I was in charge of him for a while." He pushed past some more prisoners. They seemed to straighten up at the sight of the man, despite their missing bits of flesh, fresh scars, and pain. They kept going until they reached a room that looked a lot like mess hall, but it was empty. The walls were made of dark stone even on the inside, and the round table had mugs and wooden plates and food. He put his sword aside and wiped blood off his gauntlets and taking off parts of his metal armor to wipe them once or twice before simply putting it back on. Horus sat near the fire.
"What'd you want to know?"
Khaba looked at Tabu and explained. "He's the only one still alive that actually... Handled Eros. Eros' files aren't in our reach, sadly. But you can ask him any questions you might have..."
The stranger pushed his stained hair back.

Alive?.."He killed the rest of them? How did he manage that? Most of the prisoners here seem pretty well restrained." He knew Eros was strong but all of this? It seemed very far fetched. His personality now was so submissive, at least when he was around. "What even landed him in here in the first place?"
